Today s US District Court ordered Iran and Syria to pay $178 Million in damaged to family whose three month old baby was killed in a terror attack. The attack which took place in 2004; was carried out by a member of terror group Hamas.
The car-ramming attack took place in the Holy City of Jerusalum. Killing three month old Chaya Zissel Braun and Keren Yamima Mosquera, 22, of Ecuador later died from injuries sustained in the attack. Chaya’s father was amongst a further eight injured when Abdelrahman al-Shalud crashed his car into pedestrians ;waiting at the light rail stop near AmmunitionHill. Al-Shalud had only recently been released from and Israeli Prison after serving a fourteen month sentence.
Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, families legal representive issued the following statement following the court case.“The criminal regimes in Tehran and Damascus are the biggest state sponsors of terrorism in the world, This judgment sends a clear message that there is a very heavy price to be paid for financing terrorism and spilling innocent blood in the streets of Jerusalem.”
The case was filed in a US court because the baby, her parents and grandparents all hold American citizenship.
